GST Demand Orders Issued
Cera Sanitaryware has received demand orders from the Office of the Assistant Commissioner, Medchal Jurisdiction, Keesara N2, Malkajgiri, Telangana, on September 24, 2025. The company is contesting the orders and plans to appeal.
Details of the Demand Orders
Two separate demand orders were issued. The first order, under Section 74 of CGST Act, 2017 and corresponding Telangana GST Act, 2017, demands Rs. 20,38,234/- in tax and an equal amount as penalty, totaling Rs. 40,76,468/-.
The second order, under sections 73 and 74 of CGST Act, 2017 and corresponding Section of Telangana GST Act, 2017, demands Rs. 11,35,052/- in tax and Rs. 10,99,426/- as penalty, totaling Rs. 22,34,478/-.
Alleged Violations
The authorities allege that Cera Sanitaryware has short-paid taxes and improperly claimed input tax credits blocked under section 17(5) of the relevant GST legislation.
Company Response
Cera Sanitaryware maintains that the demands are without merit and intends to file appeals against both orders.
