The company received a rectification order from the Deputy Commissioner of Income-tax, Kolkata, which reinstated all claims made by the company in its modified tax return. This effectively cancels the liability that was initially reported back in January 2026.

Tata Consumer Products Limited has provided a material update regarding an outstanding income tax matter originating from the Financial Year 2018-19. Previously, via a letter dated January 6, 2026, the company had disclosed that the Centralized Processing Center, Bengaluru, had raised a demand of Rs. 2,69,29,49,860/-, inclusive of interest, following a modified tax return filing.

Rectification Confirms Full Deletion

The company confirmed on March 24, 2026, that it has now received a rectification order from the Deputy Commissioner of Income-tax, Circle 4(1), Kolkata. This subsequent order has officially resulted in the entire tax demand of Rs. 2,69,29,49,860/- being deleted. Furthermore, the order confirms that all claims made by the company within its initial modified tax return for that year have been fully reinstated.

This disclosure is made in compliance with mandatory reporting requirements for listed entities. The company has requested that the stock exchanges take this resolution on record, confirming the closure of this specific financial contingency.
