NTPC Limited has received a crucial disclosure from its subsidiary, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), regarding the commissioning of new renewable energy capacity. The announcement confirms that the fourth part capacity, amounting to 165 MW, of the Khavda-II Solar PV Project located in Gujarat has officially been declared on Commercial Operation.
This commissioning was effective from 00:00 hrs on March 19, 2026. The project is being executed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, which operates as a stepdown subsidiary under the NGEL umbrella.
Group Capacity Update
This addition marks a significant step in NTPC Group’s renewable energy portfolio expansion. Following this successful commissioning, the total installed capacity across the entire NTPC group now stands at an impressive 88,709 MW.
Furthermore, the total commercial capacity of the NTPC group has consequently risen to 87,629 MW.
Subsidiary Capacity Growth
In related figures, the announcement from NTPC Green Energy Limited detailed its own capacity metrics. Prior to this addition, the current commercial capacity of the NGEL Group was 9562.68 MW. With the commissioning of this 165 MW unit, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group has increased to 9727.68 MW.
