Bharti Hexacom Limited has received an official notice imposing a financial penalty of Rs. 2,20,000 from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). The penalty relates to an alleged violation of subscriber verification norms identified during a Customer Application Form (CAF) Audit for the quarter ending September 2025. The company noted that the disclosed penalty is at a higher rate, as the matter is currently sub-judice before the TDSAT.

Bharti Hexacom Limited has formally disclosed the receipt of a communication from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), North East LSA. This notification, received on February 17, 2026, concerns findings from a periodic Customer Application Form (CAF) Audit conducted by the DoT.

Details of the Imposed Penalty

The core of the communication is a notice imposing a financial penalty amounting to Rs. 2,20,000. This penalty stems from an alleged violation of subscriber verification norms, which is a requisite under the company’s License Agreement.

Alleged Contravention Period

The alleged violation pertains to the terms and conditions concerning subscriber verification under the License Agreement, specifically concerning activities during the Quarter ending September 2025.

Company Stance and Financial Impact

The company acknowledged that, as per the License agreement, it is required to ensure adequate verification of all customers enrolling as subscribers. Regarding the impact, the maximum financial implication is stated to be the extent of the penalty levied. However, the company clarified that the penalty disclosed is calculated at a higher rate, as the actual matter concerning this penalty rate is presently sub-judice before Hon’ble TDSAT.
