Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GNFC) has formally disclosed an operational incident occurring at its facility. On February 14, 2026, at approximately 21:17 hours, a sudden leakage of Chlorine gas was identified at the TDI-I Plant located in Bharuch.

As mandated by the plant’s integrated safety protocols, the incident immediately resulted in an automatic shutdown of the affected unit. Critically, management confirms that the leakage remained confined entirely within the plant premises. There was no gas release beyond the boundary, ensuring no adverse impact on the surrounding environment or community.

Operational Restoration and Impact Assessment

The company confirmed that the event resulted in no loss of life or damage to any property. Following successful remediation and safety checks, normal plant operations were safely restored by 02:12 hours on February 15, 2026.

In line with disclosure requirements, GNFC noted that the incident did not involve any loss requiring an insurance claim, nor did it cause a lasting impact on overall production or operations, as the situation was resolved swiftly.
