Shipping Corporation of India Jaswinder Singh Gets Extended Charge as Director

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has approved the extension of the additional charge of Director (BC&T) to Jaswinder Singh, who currently serves as Director (L&PS) at the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI). The extension is effective from January 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026, or until further notice, subject to ACC approval.

Director’s Term Extended

Jaswinder Singh, currently the Director (L&PS) at Shipping Corporation of India (SCI), will continue to hold the additional charge of Director (BC&T). This extension has been approved by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.

Effective Period

The extended charge is set to begin on January 1, 2025, and will last until June 30, 2026, or until the issuance of further directives. This is pending approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

Profile of Jaswinder Singh

Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh has over three and a half decades of maritime experience including service in the Indian Navy and Coast Guard. Since 2023, he has been at the helm of the Liner and Passenger Services segment of SCI. He is also a Director on the board of SCI Bharat IFSC Ltd and Sethusamudram Corporation Ltd, and the Vice Chairman of Narottam Morarje Institute of Shipping, Mumbai.
