CG Power Makes Progress in Uniform Braking Algorithm Development

CG Power and Industrial Solutions subsidiary, G.G. Tronics India Private Limited, announced significant progress in developing and validating a Uniform Braking Algorithm. This algorithm aims to standardize braking performance across Indian Railways locomotives. While a previous Loco Kavach system order was cancelled due to approval delays, GGT remains qualified for future tenders and expects approvals soon, positioning them for bulk procurement opportunities.

Uniform Braking Algorithm Progress

G.G. Tronics India Private Limited (GGT), a subsidiary of CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited, has made substantial progress in the development and field validation of its Uniform Braking Algorithm. This algorithm is designed to define braking parameters across various locomotive classes for Indian Railways. The initiative aims to ensure consistent braking performance and is being driven by the Centre of Excellence (COE) and RDSO.

Loco Kavach System Order Update

In November 2024, G.G. Tronics India Pvt. Ltd. received an order from Chittaranjan Locomotive Works for the supply of Loco Kavach systems under the Developmental Category. The delivery was subject to product development completion, ISA, RDSO approval, and full compliance with Version 4.0 specifications within 12 months. However, due to delays in obtaining these approvals, the supply could not be initiated within the original timeframe, and the order has been cancelled.

Future Opportunities

Despite the cancellation, GGT remains qualified for upcoming tenders under the Developmental Category. With approvals anticipated in the near future, the company will be eligible to participate in bulk procurement, offering enhanced capabilities including the Universal Braking Algorithm compliant with Version 4.0.
