GAIL (India) Limited has announced an extension for the completion schedule of its Kochi-Kootanad-Bengaluru-Mangaluru Pipeline (KKBMPL) project. The revised completion date is now set for March 2027, extending from the previously planned schedule. This extension is attributed to delays in obtaining hindrance-free project fronts. The company is seeking further approval for this revised timeline from PNGRB.
Kochi-Bengaluru Pipeline Project Schedule Extended
GAIL (India) Limited has formally disclosed an adjustment to the completion schedule for its significant infrastructure project: the Kochi-Kootanad-Bengaluru-Mangaluru Pipeline (KKBMPL) project. The company has revised the projected completion timeline to March 2027.
The authorized length for the pipeline stands at 1104 Km, with 951 Km currently under execution. To date, 947 Km of the pipeline has been completed, and 715 Km has been commissioned. The primary rationale for this schedule extension is cited as the delay in availability of hindrance-free fronts for the project’s progression.
This disclosure follows a previous communication on 13.04.2026 regarding the project. GAIL (India) Limited is also in the process of obtaining further approval for this extended completion schedule from the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB).
Board Approval and Next Steps
The Board of Directors of GAIL (India) Limited convened a meeting on 30.10.2026, commencing at 11:00 a.m. and concluding at 02:25 p.m., where this matter was approved. No additional investment is currently required for the project beyond what was initially planned.
