The Board of Directors, at a meeting held on October 28, 2026, accepted the resignation of Mr. Hitesh Oberoi from his positions as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. This transition will be effective from the close of business hours on December 2, 2026, concluding his nearly 27-year tenure with the company, including over 16 years as MD & CEO.
Hitesh Oberoi’s New Role and Contributions
Mr. Oberoi has decided to step down from his full-time operating role to dedicate more time to personal interests in education, entrepreneurship, investing, and philanthropy, as well as to spend more time with his family. The Board expressed its deep appreciation for Mr. Oberoi’s substantial contributions over the years, acknowledging his pivotal role in building and strengthening Info Edge’s businesses and its leadership team. Following his resignation from executive roles, Mr. Oberoi has been approved by the Board to be appointed as an Additional Director, designated as a Non-Executive, Non-Independent Director under the Promoter Category, effective December 3, 2026, subject to shareholder approval. His extensive experience and institutional knowledge are expected to continue benefiting the company.
Sanjeev Bikhchandani’s Expanded Mandate
In a parallel development, the Board of Directors approved the appointment and re-designation of Mr. Sanjeev Bikhchandani. He will assume the roles of Executive Vice Chairman, Managing Director, and Group Chief Executive Officer, effective December 3, 2026, also subject to shareholder approval. Mr. Bikhchandani, who is the Founder and Vice Chairman, brings a deep understanding of Info Edge’s businesses and a strong entrepreneurial vision to these expanded responsibilities. His tenure in these new roles will be co-terminus with his existing appointment, ending on April 26, 2031.
