The original order involved a tax demand of ₹942.18 crore, with applicable interest and a penalty of ₹2,422.97 crore, for the period July 1, 2017, to March 31, 2022.

The company has stated that the confirmed tax demand, totaling approximately ₹3,365.15 crore, will have no adverse material impact on its financial operations. HDFC Life Insurance Company Limited intends to contest this Appeal Order further by filing an appeal before the GST Appellate Tribunal.
