The revenue mix was diversified across its business segments: 41% from water, 35% from transport, and 24% from tunneling.

Profitability and Key Financials

The company achieved strong profitability with an EBITDA margin of 22.9%, exceeding its guidance of 18% plus. Profit after tax from continuing operations was ₹90 crore. The reported profit after tax for the quarter, after accounting for a loss of ₹34 crore from discontinued operations related to the MCP project, was ₹56 crore.

Strategic Milestones and Outlook

A significant event during the quarter was the signing of a definitive agreement for the divestment of the company’s entire stake in the Aunta-Simaria HAM project, valued at approximately ₹1,000 crore. This transaction is expected to reduce debt by around ₹800 crore. The company’s consolidated order book as of June 30, 2026, was robust at over ₹18,700 crore, offering healthy revenue visibility for the next few years. The order book is diversified across water, transportation, and tunneling segments. Looking ahead, the company remains focused on prudent capital allocation and sustainable, profitable growth.

Operational Updates

In its operational updates, Welspun Enterprises highlighted progress on key projects. The Dharavi Wastewater Treatment Facility is approximately 70% complete and on track for commissioning by July 2027. The Uttar Pradesh Jal Jeevan Mission projects have seen over 80% physical progress. The company also noted slower execution in Mumbai due to temporary stoppages but expects improved momentum. Welspun Michigan Engineers Limited (WMEL) posted a revenue of ₹179 crore in Q1 FY27 with an EBITDA margin of 21.3%, and its order book stood at ₹2,135 crore.

Transportation Sector Developments

In the transportation vertical, the Aunta-Simaria Road asset divestment was highlighted as a successful execution of the capital recycling strategy. The sub-concession agreement for the Pune-Shirur Road project has been executed, with construction expected to accelerate towards the end of the financial year. The Varanasi-Aurangabad Road project is nearing its provisional completion certificate, and the Sattanathapuram-Nagapattinam Road project is in advanced stages of completion.
