Reliance Infrastructure: Subsidiary KM Toll Road Admitted to Insolvency

Reliance Infrastructure Limited has disclosed that the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Mumbai Bench, has admitted a petition for Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) against its wholly-owned subsidiary, KM Toll Road Private Limited. The petition was filed by State Bank of India for a claim of approximately INR 233.44 crore. Reliance Infrastructure has stated its exposure of around INR 548 crore in KM Toll Road is already provided for in its accounts.

NCLT Admits Insolvency Plea Against KM Toll Road

Reliance Infrastructure Limited (RInfra) announced on August 5, 2026, that the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Mumbai Bench, has admitted a petition filed by State Bank of India (SBI) for initiating the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) against its wholly-owned subsidiary, KM Toll Road Private Limited.

Details of the Claim and Exposure

The petition by SBI pertains to an alleged default in repayment of approximately INR 233.44 crore, including interest. This claim is made under Section 7 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. RInfra has further clarified that its own financial exposure in KM Toll Road stands at approximately INR 548 crore, which has already been accounted for in the company’s books.

Tribunal’s Order

The NCLT’s order, received by RInfra on August 5, 2026, was pronounced on July 22, 2026. The admission signifies the commencement of the insolvency resolution process for KM Toll Road Private Limited.
