Berger Paints India Limited has unveiled its financial performance for the first quarter of the Financial Year 2027 (Q1 FY27). The company reported a robust 25.5% year-on-year growth in Profit After Tax (PAT) for its standalone operations, reaching ₹368.7 crore. This strong profitability was underpinned by a healthy 12.7% increase in total income from operations, which stood at ₹3,226.7 crore.
Standalone Financial Snapshot
The standalone financial results for Q1 FY27 indicate strong operational performance. PBDIT (Excluding Other Income) saw a growth of 12.6% to ₹562.2 crore. The Profit Before Tax (PBT) before exceptional items also demonstrated significant growth, rising by 15.6% to ₹500.3 crore. The company’s PAT for the quarter was ₹368.7 crore, a considerable jump from ₹293.8 crore in Q1 FY26. Total comprehensive income for the period grew by 25.1% to ₹366.4 crore.
Decorative Business Leads Growth
The presentation highlights that the decorative business was a key driver of growth, delivering a nearly mid-teen value growth. This segment outperformed other business verticals. The company also reported strong double-digit growth in volume and value for its decorative operations. Calibrated price increases were implemented throughout the quarter, supporting the performance of the decorative segment.
Consolidated Performance
On a consolidated basis, Berger Paints reported a 12.0% growth in total income from operations, amounting to ₹3,583.8 crore. Consolidated PAT saw an impressive increase of 28.6%, reaching ₹405.0 crore. The consolidated PBDIT margin expanded by approximately 40 bps, indicating improved operational efficiency. Joint ventures within the group also continued to contribute positively to both revenue and profitability.
Business Outlook and Strategy
Looking ahead, Berger Paints anticipates sustained double-digit revenue growth for FY27, supported by the full-quarter impact of price increases, festive demand, and distribution expansion. Operating margins are expected to remain within the guided range. The company plans to continue its investment in brands, innovation, and retail activation to strengthen its consumer base.
