(PFC) has successfully divested its wholly owned subsidiaries, Ananthpuram Transmission Limited and Krishnagiri REZ Transmission Limited, to successful bidders on August 3, 2026. The combined sale consideration for these two entities amounts to ₹39.43 crore. This strategic divestment aligns with PFC’s ongoing efforts to streamline its operations and focus on core business activities within the power sector.
PFC Completes Divestment of Transmission Subsidiaries
Power Finance Corporation Ltd. (PFC) announced the completion of the transfer of two of its wholly owned subsidiaries, Ananthpuram Transmission Limited and Krishnagiri REZ Transmission Limited, to their respective successful bidders. This transaction, effective from August 3, 2026, marks a significant step in PFC’s strategic asset management and portfolio optimization efforts.
Subsidiaries and Transaction Details
Ananthpuram Transmission Limited was established for the development of the “Transmission System for Integration of Ananthpuram-III PS REZ Phase-I (3GW)” and has been acquired by Apraava Energy Private Limited. Krishnagiri REZ Transmission Limited, tasked with developing the “Transmission System for integration of Krishnagiri REZ Phase-I,” has been transferred to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited.
Financial Considerations
The sale of Ananthpuram Transmission Limited was concluded for an amount of ₹19,61,75,336 (Rupees Nineteen Crore Sixty-One Lakh Seventy-Five Thousand Three Hundred Thirty-Six Only). Krishnagiri REZ Transmission Limited was divested for ₹19,82,02,754 (Rupees Nineteen Crore Eighty-Two Lakh Two Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty-Four Only). The total consideration for both transactions sums up to approximately ₹39.43 crore.
Transaction Nature
PFC has clarified that the consideration for the sale and transfer of these Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) was determined in accordance with the Guidelines issued by the Ministry of Power, Government of India. The transactions are not in the nature of a slump sale and do not fall within the purview of related party transactions. The successful bidders do not belong to the promoter or promoter group of PFC Consulting Limited, the parent entity of the subsidiaries.
The sale process for both SPVs to the respective successful bidders has been fully completed on 03.08.2026.
