Wipro announced the expansion of its business operations in South Korea, designating it a strategic growth market. The expansion includes an enlarged office footprint in Seoul and the launch of a new Innovation Lab under the Wipro Innovation Network (WIN). This move reinforces Wipro’s commitment to serving South Korean clients, particularly those undergoing AI-led transformation, leveraging its global delivery network and recent acquisition of HARMAN’s DTS business.
Wipro Boosts South Korea Presence
Wipro Limited announced on March 23, 2026, a major expansion of its business operations in South Korea, solidifying the country’s status as a strategic growth market. The expansion encompasses an enlarged office presence in Seoul and the launch of a significant Innovation Lab, which will operate as part of the global Wipro Innovation Network (WIN).
Focus on Innovation and AI Transformation
South Korea is recognized as a global innovation hub, leading in areas like semiconductors, automotive engineering, and advanced technology. Wipro’s expanded presence directly addresses the increasing demand from Korean enterprises for AI-led transformation capabilities that can scale across markets. The new Seoul Innovation Lab is designed for close collaboration with local clients and partners, fostering co-creation, rapid experimentation, and solution development.
The lab will specifically focus on key sectors including technology, automotive, and industrial, supporting use cases like intelligent product engineering, software-defined vehicles, and smart manufacturing. It will showcase Wipro Intelligence™, the unified suite of AI-powered platforms.
Strategic Growth and Talent Development
Vinay Firake, CEO of APMEA Strategic Market Unit, stated that the expansion reflects Wipro’s long-term commitment to the region, aiming to help enterprises translate innovation into measurable business outcomes. Wipro continues to invest in local talent, employing several hundred professionals in South Korea and partnering with academic institutions to upskill professionals in advanced technology.
Integration of DTS Acquisition
This strategic expansion builds upon Wipro’s acquisition of the Digital Transformation Solutions (DTS) business unit of HARMAN, a Samsung company, completed last year. The integration brought more than 5,000 professionals, including senior leaders, into Wipro, significantly strengthening its product engineering and digital transformation capabilities.
With this new facility, Wipro now operates nine innovation facilities globally, including five within the APMEA region.
