Voltas Receives GST Order Demands from West Bengal and Chhattisgarh

Voltas has received orders from GST authorities in West Bengal and Chhattisgarh demanding tax totaling ₹0.27 crore. The West Bengal order demands ₹0.16 crore for alleged short payment of GST from 2018-19 to 2023-24. The Chhattisgarh order demands ₹0.11 crore for alleged disallowance of Input Tax Credit from 2018-19 to 2021-22. Voltas is filing appeals against these orders, with no material impact expected on company financials.

GST Order from West Bengal

Voltas received an order from the Deputy Commissioner, CGST and Central Excise, Bidhan Nagar Division, Kolkata North Commissionerate, West Bengal, on December 31, 2025, demanding a tax of ₹0.16 crore. The demand is under Section 74 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, alleging short payment of GST for the financial years from 2018-19 to 2023-24. This includes applicable interest and a penalty of an equal amount of ₹0.16 crore. The company is preparing an appeal.

GST Order from Chhattisgarh

On December 31, 2025, Voltas also received an order from the Superintendent of CGST, Central Tax, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, demanding a tax of ₹0.11 crore. This order, under Section 74 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, alleges disallowance of Input Tax Credit for the financial years from 2018-19 to 2021-22. It includes applicable interest and a penalty of an equal amount of ₹0.11 crore. Voltas is filing an appeal against this order as well.

Financial Impact

Voltas stated that there would be no material impact on the financials, operations, or other activities of the Company because of these penalties.
