Vedanta Limited formally announced on February 27, 2026, that it successfully participated in an e-auction conducted by the Government of Odisha for the grant of a Mining Lease. The auction centered on the Karnapodikonda bauxite block, located in the State of Odisha. Following the qualification stage, the Company proceeded to the live e-auction phase.
Designation as Preferred Bidder
The Company confirmed receiving the official notification designating Vedanta as the ‘Preferred Bidder’ for this valuable asset. This confirmation was officially received by the Company at 04:20 pm IST on the date of the announcement.

The Karnapodikonda bauxite block is confirmed to be at the G2 level of exploration. The total area covered by the block is substantial, measuring 532.747 hectares.
