Vedanta Limited FY26 Production Highlights Record-Breaking Annual Growth

Vedanta Limited has announced its production results for the fourth quarter and the full fiscal year 2026. The company achieved significant milestones, including record-breaking annual production in Aluminium, Alumina, mined metal at Zinc India, pig iron, copper cathode, and ferro chrome. These results underscore the company’s operational efficiency and capacity expansion efforts across its diversified portfolio despite challenges in the oil and gas segment.

Key Operational Milestones

The fiscal year 2026 was a landmark period for Vedanta, marked by several all-time high production figures. Annual Alumina production soared by 48% year-on-year (YoY) to 2,916 kt, while total Aluminium production reached a record 2,456 kt. In the zinc segment, Zinc India achieved a record annual mined metal production of 1,114 kt, representing a 2% growth YoY.

Segment Performance Breakdown

The company demonstrated strong operational momentum across various divisions:

  • Aluminium: Achieved an exit run rate of 4 MTPA at the Lanjigarh refinery.
  • Zinc India: Reported a 11% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) increase in silver production to 176 tonnes in Q4.
  • FACOR: Delivered record annual Ferro Chrome production of 101 kt, a 21% increase YoY, driven by the restart of Kalarangiatta mines.
  • Copper India: Successfully ramped up annual cathode production to 170 kt, a 15% YoY improvement.
  • Iron Ore: Produced a record 895 kt of pig iron, marking a 10% YoY increase.

Power and Energy Sectors

Power sales witnessed a robust growth of 43% YoY in the fourth quarter, supported by strong performance at the Athena and Meenakshi plants. Notably, the Athena 600 MW plant achieved a Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 88% in Q4. While the Oil & Gas segment saw a decrease in average daily production to 81.5 kboepd for the quarter, the company continues to focus on operational efficiencies to navigate the ongoing regulatory status of its blocks.
