UCO Bank has announced a key change in its senior management team, appointing Mr. Rajeev Gupta as the new Chief Risk Officer (CRO). He succeeds Mr. Shashi Kant Kumar, who has transitioned to the role of Zonal Head in Mumbai. UCO Bank has officially confirmed the appointment of Mr. Rajeev Gupta as the Chief Risk Officer (CRO). This leadership change comes into effect on April 14, 2026. Mr. Gupta takes over the responsibilities from Mr. Shashi Kant Kumar, who has been reassigned to lead the bank’s operations as the Zonal Head for Mumbai.

The new CRO brings over 29 years of extensive experience in the banking sector. Mr. Gupta, 51 years old, holds a strong academic and professional background, including a Bachelor of Commerce, an MBA in Finance, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Banking. He is also a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).

Strategic Expertise

Throughout his career, Mr. Gupta has held various roles across branches, overseas centers, zonal offices, and corporate departments. His professional profile highlights significant expertise in risk management, overseas banking operations, and core banking functions. Additionally, he holds a specialized certification in Treasury, Investment, and Risk Management from the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF), positioning him well to oversee the bank’s risk framework.
