Tata Steel Strong Production & Delivery Growth in Q3 FY2026

Tata Steel reported strong operational performance for Q3 FY2026, achieving record crude steel production in India at 6.34 million tons, up 12% both QoQ and YoY. Domestic deliveries also hit a new high, exceeding 6 million tons for the first time, driven by robust demand across key sectors. Despite challenges in Europe, the company maintains a positive outlook, supported by strong domestic performance and strategic growth initiatives.

India Operations Shine

Tata Steel India achieved its highest-ever quarterly crude steel production in Q3 FY2026, reaching 6.34 million tons. This represents a 12% increase compared to both the previous quarter (QoQ) and the same period last year (YoY). The improved performance was primarily driven by increased output at the Jamshedpur and Kalinganagar facilities. Cumulative production for the first nine months of FY2026 reached approximately 17.2 million tons, a 6% increase YoY.

Domestic deliveries also reached a record high of 6.04 million tons, surpassing the 6 million ton mark for the first time. This represents a 9% increase QoQ and a 14% increase YoY, fueled by strong demand in the domestic market. For the first nine months of FY26, deliveries were up 6% YoY, reaching approximately 16.3 million tons.

Key Domestic Highlights

The ‘Automotive & Special Products’ vertical achieved its best-ever volumes at approximately 0.9 million tons, a 20% increase YoY. The ‘Branded Products & Retail’ vertical exceeded 2 million tons for the first time, with volumes up 12% YoY. The ‘Industrial Products & Projects’ vertical reached approximately 1.9 million tons, aided by value-added segments.

E-commerce platforms, Tata Steel Aashiyana and DigECA, generated a Gross Merchandise Value of ₹2,380 crores for the quarter, up 68% YoY.

European Operations Face Headwinds

Tata Steel Netherlands produced 1.68 million tons of liquid steel in Q3 FY2026, with deliveries of 1.40 million tons. Deliveries were impacted by seasonal factors and subdued market conditions.

Tata Steel UK is currently focused on serving its customers through downstream processing of purchased substrate, with deliveries for the quarter at 0.52 million tons. Progress continues on enabling works for the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) project.

Thailand Sees Delivery Growth

Tata Steel Thailand reported saleable steel production of 0.31 million tons and deliveries of 0.29 million tons for the quarter. Deliveries improved by 5% YoY, primarily driven by strong domestic rebar sales.
