Tata Power Achieves 1 GWp Rooftop Solar Capacity Milestone

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has achieved 1 GWp of installed rooftop solar capacity in the first 9 months of FY26, reinforcing its position as India’s No. 1 rooftop solar player. The company added over 1.7 lakh new customers in the same period, marking a 345% YoY growth. Cumulative installations now exceed 4 GWp nationwide.

Rooftop Solar Leadership

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has reached a significant milestone of 1 GWp in installed rooftop solar capacity during the first nine months of FY26. This achievement reinforces the company’s leadership position in the Indian rooftop solar market.

Key Growth Metrics

The company experienced a 127% YoY growth, exceeding the 444.78 MWp installed in the corresponding period of FY25. Customer adoption sharply increased, adding 1.7 lakh new customers, a 345% YoY increase. The company’s cumulative rooftop solar installations now stand above 4 GWp nationwide.

Q3 FY26 Performance

Q3 FY26 was a breakout quarter, with 58,476 installations adding 372 MWp capacity, a 242% YoY growth compared to 17,092 installations in Q3 FY25.

Geographical Distribution

Uttar Pradesh led in new rooftop solar installations, followed by Maharashtra and Gujarat. Cumulatively, Maharashtra and Gujarat dominate, followed by Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh.

Commitment to Clean Energy

Tata Power Solaroof is contributing to India’s goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2070 through rooftop solar solutions.
