Tata Consultancy Services Conducts World’s Largest AI Hackathon

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has successfully concluded the first edition of the tcsAl Hackathon 2025, achieving a record-breaking participation of over 281,000 employees across 58 countries. This initiative, part of TCS’ strategy to augment its Al-first culture, focused on 21 industry-relevant Al themes and promoted diversity with significant involvement from women, overseas employees, and various age groups. The hackathon aims to accelerate Al adoption and innovation within TCS.

Record-Breaking Al Hackathon

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has concluded the inaugural tcsAl Hackathon 2025, marking a significant milestone in the company’s journey towards an Al-first culture. The hackathon witnessed participation from over 281,000 TCS employees spanning 58 countries, establishing it as the world’s largest Al hackathon.

Diversity and Reach

The tcsAl Hackathon 2025 showcased a diverse participation base, with 33% of participants being women, 53% local employees in overseas geographies, 36% mid-level and senior employees, 38% Gen Z participants and 29% non-technical participants. This inclusive approach underscores TCS’ commitment to fostering a diverse and collaborative environment for innovation.

tcsAl Initiative

The Hackathon is a key component of the tcsAl initiative, designed to accelerate Al adoption within TCS. This initiative provides employees with access to GenAl-powered platforms, tools, and environments, enabling them to integrate Al into their daily work and develop innovative solutions for clients and communities.

Al Integration and Evaluation

The hackathon integrated Al solutions from top hyperscaler and niche partners, alongside TCS’ own solutions like TCS AI WisdomNext™. Generative Al played a key role in evaluating Hackathon submissions. TCS customers have expressed interest in integrating the Al solutions developed during the Hackathon into their products and services.

Future Initiatives

The tcsAl Hackathon 2025 will continue as weekly Al Fridays at major TCS campuses in India, providing ongoing opportunities for employees to engage with Al technologies and contribute to TCS’ Al innovation efforts.
