Tata Consultancy Services: Partners with Qualcomm to Develop AI-Driven Capabilities

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has partnered with Qualcomm to establish the ‘TCS Innovation Lab’ in Bengaluru. The collaboration aims to create smart, scalable Edge AI capabilities using Qualcomm platforms. This initiative will focus on developing solutions for industries adopting software-driven approaches. The lab will support prototyping and implementation of Edge AI for sectors like security, healthcare, smart infrastructure, and manufacturing. This partnership aims to provide cost-effective and efficient solutions for enterprises.

AI-Driven Capabilities Development

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Qualcomm have joined forces to launch the ‘TCS Innovation Lab’ in Bengaluru. This collaboration aims to co-create smart and scalable Edge AI capabilities using Qualcomm platforms. The lab will focus on industries moving towards a software-driven approach.

Focus and Location

Located in Bengaluru, the lab will operate as part of the IoT-focused Bringing Life to Things Network lab. Equipped with 5G private network infrastructure, it will develop solutions for sectors such as security and surveillance, healthcare, smart infrastructure, and manufacturing. This location is intended to support prototyping and implementation of Edge AI built on a Software Defined Everything (SDx) approach.

Solutions and Applications

The collaboration seeks to address the need for intelligent devices that can autonomously make decisions. TCS will utilize advanced Edge AI and SDx capabilities to help enterprises build adaptable systems. The solutions are expected to find applications in medical devices, smart handhelds, smart infrastructure, and advanced safety and surveillance mechanisms.

Earlier Collaboration

TCS and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. have previously collaborated on projects including silicon solution design and IT support. Recently, TCS developed a real-time smart visual anomaly detection capability for material inspection for an automotive manufacturer using Qualcomm Technologies.
