Tata Communications has announced the appointment of Mr. Siddhartha Mundra as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Mr. Mundra will initially join as the CFO-Designate effective February 23, 2026, and will formally take over the role from May 1, 2026. He succeeds Mr. Kabir Ahmed Shakir, who will step down on April 30, 2026. Mr. Mundra brings over 22 years of experience across finance, strategy, and private equity sectors.

Tata Communications Confirms New CFO Appointment

Tata Communications Limited announced today, February 10, 2026, the appointment of Mr. Siddhartha Mundra to lead its finance function as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

The transition process involves two key dates:

  • Mr. Mundra will join the organization as the Chief Financial Officer – Designate effective February 23, 2026.
  • He will assume the full responsibilities of the Chief Financial Officer on May 1, 2026.

This change follows the cessation of duties for the incumbent CFO, Mr. Kabir Ahmed Shakir, who will step down after the close of business hours on April 30, 2026.

Profile of Mr. Siddhartha Mundra

Mr. Mundra possesses a diverse background spanning more than 22 years in corporate finance, strategy, business operations, private equity, and technology. He has held senior leadership roles within several prominent Indian conglomerates.

His recent professional history includes:

  • Serving as Vice President and part of the Group CFO & Group Strategy Office at Tata Sons since December 2020.
  • Acting as the Chief Executive Officer of Shankara Building Products Limited between 2017 and 2020.
  • Prior experience in the private equity sector, including roles as Director at Fairwinds Private Equity (2008 to 2017) and Associate Vice President at ICICI Venture (2005 to 2008).

In terms of education, Mr. Mundra holds a PGDM from IIM Ahmedabad and is a graduate of B.Tech Computer Science from NIT Warangal, where he secured a Gold Medal.
