Tata Chemicals ₹515 Crore Investment in New IVSD Manufacturing Facility

Tata Chemicals has approved an investment of ₹515 crore to establish a new greenfield manufacturing facility for Iodised Vacuum Salt Dried (IVSD) at Valinokkam, Ramnathapuram district, Tamil Nadu. The facility will have a capacity of 210 Kilo Tons Per Annum (KTPA). This strategic move aims to increase production capacity and enhance supply chain efficiency.

New Manufacturing Plant

Tata Chemicals is setting up a greenfield manufacturing facility at Valinokkam, Ramnathapuram district, Tamil Nadu. This new plant will produce Iodised Vacuum Salt Dried (IVSD).

Capacity and Investment

The new facility will have a production capacity of 210 KTPA. The company is investing ₹515 crore in this project.

Project Timeline

The project is expected to be completed in 36 months.

Funding

The project will be financed through internal accruals and/or external financing.

Strategic Rationale

Tata Chemicals currently has an IVSD manufacturing capacity of 1.6 million tonnes per annum at its Mithapur (Gujarat) Plant. The new investment is intended to:

* Create a second manufacturing site for IVSD in South India.* Achieve higher efficiency in the supply chain and optimize logistic costs.
