Reasons for the Penalty
The penalty was imposed due to discrepancies involving excess Input Tax Credit (ITC) availed and differences in turnover figures. The assessment period for these discrepancies is from April 2021 to March 2022.
Company’s Response
Star Health believes it has a strong case on the merits and intends to appeal the order with the appropriate authorities. The company does not currently anticipate any material adverse impact on its financial operations due to this matter. Based on legal counsel’s advice, the company believes that liability is unlikely to arise.
