Appointment of Whole-time Director (Finance)
SJVN Limited officially announced the appointment of Shri Parthajit De (DIN: 11219972) as the Whole-time Director (Finance) on the Board of the Company. This appointment, sanctioned by the Ministry of Power via order dated March 18, 2026, is effective from the date of assumption of charge, which is March 19, 2026, for a period of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The Company confirms that Shri Parthajit De is not related to any Director on the Board and is not debarred from holding the office of director by any regulatory authority.
Cessation of Additional Charge
Subsequent to this appointment, it is noted that Shri Sipan Kumar Garg (DIN: 10746205) ceases to hold the additional charge of the post of Director (Finance) and Chief Financial Officer of the Company.
Brief Profile of Shri Parthajit De
Shri Parthajit De assumed the role on March 19, 2026, following his service at NHPC Limited, where he was in charge of Corporate Accounts & Policy, Corporate Tax Cell, and Employment Benefit Trusts. He also served as a nominee Director on the Board of Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Corporation Ltd.
He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) and holds significant qualifications, including being a Chartered Financial Analyst and completing CGMA from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK. He possesses almost 30 years of post-qualification experience.

Mr. De began his career in NHPC in November, 1998. His professional journey, spanning over 27 years, provided him with extensive expertise across core finance domains, including Corporate Accounts, Taxation, Trusts, and Contracts. His experience covers Indian Accounting Standards, Taxation, Tariff Regulations, and Corporate Governance.
His field experience spans multiple projects, including Rangit Project (Sikkim), Teesta Low Dam Projects (West Bengal), Siang Basin Projects (Arunachal Pradesh), and the Rural Roads Project (Bihar). At the Corporate Office level, he was instrumental in heading the committee for the first time adoption of Ind AS in 2016-17.
Achievements in Financial Reporting
During his tenure heading Corporate Accounts & Policy at NHPC, the Financial Statements received NIL Comments from the C&AG for nine consecutive years (2016-17 to date). Furthermore, NHPC secured significant accolades:
- The Silver Shield for Excellence in Financial Reporting in 2019-20.
- The Gold Shield in 2020-21 from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
- The Gold Medal for Best Presented Annual Report from the South Asian Federation of Accountants in 2020-21.
Mr. De was also key in the revision and updation of Finance Manuals of NHPC in 2022, leveraging his deep knowledge of Tariff Regulations and Accounting Standards.
