Shree Cement Receives GST Demand Orders from Chhattisgarh and Karnataka

Shree Cement has received Goods and Services Tax (GST) demand orders from authorities in Chhattisgarh and Karnataka. The orders relate to alleged excess or wrong availment of Input Tax Credit. The company stated that it does not agree with the contentions and will appeal the orders. Shree Cement believes that these orders will not have a major financial impact.

GST Demand Orders Received

Shree Cement has received GST demand orders from the Joint Commissioner, SGST Division-2, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, and the Assistant Commissioner, Central Tax & Central Excise, Gulbarga Division, Karnataka.

Chhattisgarh GST Order

The order from Chhattisgarh confirms a tax demand of Rs. 37,07,520/- along with interest of Rs. 23,54,940 and a penalty of Rs. 3,90,754/-. The order was received on December 30th, 2025, and relates to an allegation of excess availment of Input Tax Credit.

Karnataka GST Order

The order from Karnataka confirms a tax demand of Rs. 33,21,931/- along with interest of Rs. 11,88,485 and a penalty of Rs. 33,21,931/-. This order, also received on December 30th, 2025, pertains to alleged wrong availment of Input Tax Credit.

Company Response

Shree Cement does not agree with the contentions in either order and will file appeals with the relevant authorities. The company does not anticipate a major financial impact as a result of these orders.

Appeals against both orders will be filed on or before March 29th, 2026.
