Shipping Corporation of India Uttam Gharde Appointed as Deputy CVO

The Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) has announced the appointment of Uttam Gharde as Deputy Chief Vigilance Officer (Dy. CVO), effective January 1, 2026. This change is part of a strategic internal restructuring, positioning Mr. Gharde within the senior management team. The announcement was officially made on January 9, 2026, at 10:45 hrs.

Leadership Change in Vigilance Division

Uttam Gharde has assumed the role of Deputy Chief Vigilance Officer (Dy. CVO) at The Shipping Corporation of India (SCI). This appointment is a key development in the company’s organizational structure.

Uttam Gharde’s Background

Mr. Gharde brings over 33 years of experience to his new role. His expertise spans Maritime Training, Fleet Personnel management, Ship Operation, and Dry dock operations. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Gharde served as Deputy General Manager since April 2019.

He initially joined SCI in August 1992 as a Fifth Engineer Officer, transitioning to a shore-based role in April 2006.
