Capt. Som Raj’s additional role is set to last from January 1, 2026, to March 31, 2026. The appointment will continue until a permanent director is appointed, or as directed by further orders. This decision was influenced by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.
Background of Capt. Som Raj
Capt. Som Raj brings extensive experience to the role, with over 35 years in ship operations, maritime training, and human resources. Before taking on this additional responsibility, Capt. Som Raj served as Director (Personnel & Administration) at SCI and has held roles in SCI Land and Assets Ltd. (SCILAL) and Inland & Coastal Shipping Ltd (ICSL). He has been a ship master since 2005.
