GST Demand Reduction
SBI Cards has announced a significant development regarding a GST demand. An order dated October 15, 2025, from the CGST Gurugram Commissionerate resulted in a substantial reduction of the original GST demand.
Order Details and Remaining Demand
The order reduced the initial total demand of ₹81,93,14,904 by ₹81,45,61,228. The favorable order addressed a mismatch between GSTR-2A and GSTR-3B, deeming the demand unsustainable.
Ongoing Appeal Process
While the majority of the demand has been dropped, a portion (₹47,53,676) related to supplies from units with retrospectively cancelled registrations, or those that haven’t filed GSTR-3B, remains. SBI Card intends to appeal this remaining demand before the Commissioner (Appeals), CGST Gurugram.
