State Bank of India (SBI) has announced the appointment of Shri Ravi Ranjan as Managing Director, effective December 15, 2025. He will hold the position until September 30, 2028, or until further notice. Shri Ranjan is not debarred from holding the office of director. State Bank of India (SBI) has appointed Shri Ravi Ranjan as its new Managing Director, as per an official notification released on December 15, 2025. This key leadership appointment will see Shri Ravi Ranjan taking over the responsibilities of the role immediately.
Terms of Appointment
Shri Ravi Ranjan’s tenure as Managing Director will be effective from December 15, 2025, until he reaches the age of superannuation on September 30, 2028, or until further orders are issued.
Shri Ravi Ranjan’s Background
Prior to this appointment, Shri Ravi Ranjan held the position of Deputy Managing Director. He brings to the role extensive experience in Risk, Compliance, and Stressed Assets Resolution. He has also served as DMD for Global Markets and Corporate Accounts. He has also previously headed the SBI Chennai Circle and served as President and COO at SBICAPS, Mumbai, along with leading the Retail Network as GM in Bengaluru.
