Samvardhana Motherson International (SAMIL) has announced that its subsidiary, Motherson Electronic Components Private Limited (MECPL), has secured government incentives under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS). The incentives, part of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, will support MECPL’s production of enclosures for the consumer electronics industry and are expected to generate over 5,000 employment opportunities.
Government Incentive Secured
Motherson Electronic Components Private Limited (MECPL), a subsidiary of Samvardhana Motherson International Limited (SAMIL), has secured incentives under the Government of India’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme and has been included among the beneficiaries of the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) for the production of enclosures for the consumer electronics industry.
ECMS Details
The incentives are for six years, from FY26 to FY31, with an expected cumulative investment of Rs. 1,900 crores over the investment period. MECPL plans to create over 5,000 employment opportunities at its plant in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, during the course of these incentives.
