The aggregate cash consideration for the 50.1% stake amounts to ₹150 crore. This investment will enable Jio Studios to consolidate its position in the media and entertainment sector.
Sikhya Entertainment (SEPL) Details
SEPL was incorporated on April 1, 2008. The company’s turnover for FY2024-25 was ₹69.21 crore, for FY2023-24 it was ₹64.40 crore, and for FY2022-23, it stood at ₹28.36 crore.
Strategic Rationale
The acquisition is aimed at enabling Jio Studios, the media and content arm of RIL, to further consolidate its pre-eminent position in the media and entertainment sector. Together, Jio Studios and Sikhya Entertainment plan to co-create films and series for audiences in India and worldwide.
