These subsidiaries, Kempegowda Power Transmission Limited and Barmer HVDC Power Transmission Limited, will support power transmission projects. REC Limited has incorporated two wholly owned subsidiary companies on September 30, 2025. These new entities are part of REC’s strategy to enhance its role in power infrastructure development.
Kempegowda Power Transmission Limited
Kempegowda Power Transmission Limited has been established with a CIN of U42202DL2025GOI456203. The authorized and paid-up capital for this subsidiary is ₹5,00,000. It will focus on the establishment of a 400 kV Kempegowda Layout in Bengaluru Urban. REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) acts as the Bid Process Coordinator (BPC) for this project. After the selection of the successful bidder, the company will be transferred along with all assets and liabilities.
Barmer HVDC Power Transmission Limited
Barmer HVDC Power Transmission Limited has been incorporated with a CIN of U42202DL2025GOI456212. Similar to the other subsidiary, the authorized and paid-up capital is ₹5,00,000. This entity aims to establish a transmission system for the evacuation of power from the Rajasthan REZ_Ph-IV (Part-5:6 GW) [Barmer Complex] Barmer-II: 6 GW (Solar) (LCC Configuration). RECPDCL also serves as the BPC for this project, and the company will be transferred to the successful bidder. The Ministry of Power’s notification was issued on August 29, 2025.
