Rail Vikas Nigam Limited Secures ₹242 Crore Railway Electrification Contract

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has secured a significant order from South Central Railway for OHE (Overhead Equipment) upgradation work. The project involves upgrading the existing 1X25kV system to a 2X25kV AT Feeding System, including feeder and earthing works, covering a total of 154 RKM / 462 TKM. The contract, valued at ₹242.49 crore, is expected to be completed within a timeframe of 24 months.

Project Details and Scope

The contract awarded to Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) covers the crucial Ongole (OGL) to Gudur (GDR) section within the Vijayawada Division. This electrification upgrade is essential for modernizing the rail infrastructure, moving from an existing 1X25kV system to a more efficient 2X25kV AT Feeding System. The scope of the work includes design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning, ensuring comprehensive delivery across the 154 RKM / 462 TKM stretch.

Contract Value and Timeline

The total value of the project stands at ₹242,49,86,547.22, inclusive of all applicable taxes. This large-scale infrastructure project is aligned with the company’s core operations in the rail sector. According to the project timeline, the work is scheduled for completion within 24 months from the date of the Letter of Award (LOA). This win further solidifies RVNL’s contribution to upgrading India’s rail network capacity and efficiency.
