Update on Excise Duty Dispute

Prism Johnson has provided an update on a previously disclosed matter concerning service tax and excise duty. The dispute originated from an order dated January 10, 2025, issued by the Customs, Excise & Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT). This order had set aside a demand and associated penalties.

Appeal by Authorities

Dissatisfied with the CESTAT order, the Commissioner CGST & Central Excise, Jabalpur, filed an appeal with the High Court of Madhya Pradesh, Principal Seat at Jabalpur, on July 21, 2025. The High Court admitted the appeal, and a notice was served to the company on January 23, 2026.

Hearing Date and Outlook

The hearing for the appeal is scheduled for February 23, 2026. Prism Johnson remains optimistic about a favorable outcome and does not foresee any significant financial repercussions arising from this matter.
