The announcement was made on March 27, 2026, in compliance with ongoing regulatory disclosures, confirming the successful integration of the power evacuation system linking the 900 MW hydropower project in Nepal to the Indian grid.

Project Commissioning Confirmed

POWERGRID has formally confirmed the successful commissioning of a vital power transmission project connecting the Arun-3 (900 MW) Hydro Electric Project (HEP) in Nepal. Specifically, the transmission system dedicated to the “Indian Portion” of the power evacuation has been brought online.

The commissioning took effect on September 3, 2023. This notification is being made today, March 27, 2026, to satisfy disclosure requirements related to key operational milestones.
