POWERGRID Subsidiary Successfully Commissions Major Inter-State Transmission Project in Rajasthan

POWERGRID Narela Transmission Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary, has successfully commissioned the “Transmission System Strengthening Scheme for evaluation of power from Solar Energy Zones in Rajasthan (8.1 GW)”. The project achieved its Date of Commercial Operation (DOCO) on December 7, 2025, with official notification received on February 24, 2026. This milestone confirms the successful implementation of vital power infrastructure facilitating renewable energy evacuation.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited announces the successful completion and commissioning of a significant infrastructure project by its wholly owned subsidiary, POWERGRID Narela Transmission Limited. This marks a major step in strengthening the national transmission grid.

Project Details and Mandate

The project, secured via Tariff Based Competitive Bidding, is designated as the “Transmission System Strengthening Scheme for evaluation of power from Solar Energy Zones in Rajasthan (8.1 GW) under Phase-Il Part-G”. This undertaking is crucial for the effective evacuation of power generated from large-scale solar energy zones located in Rajasthan.

Commercial Operation Date Confirmed

The subsidiary confirmed that the entire transmission system has been completely commissioned effective from 07th December, 2025. Official confirmation regarding the Notification for Commercial Operation (DOCO) was received via email on 24th February, 2026, finalizing the project deployment phase.
