Power Finance Corporation Ltd: Subsidiary to Develop South Kalamb Transmission Project

Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC) has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL), has incorporated South Kalamb Power Transmission Limited to develop the ‘Network Expansion Scheme’ for power drawal at South Kalamb. This project aims to enhance the transmission infrastructure and support the efficient distribution of power in the region. The formal notification was issued on August 19, 2025.

South Kalamb Transmission Project

Power Finance Corporation (PFC) through its subsidiary, PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL), has incorporated a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) named South Kalamb Power Transmission Limited. This SPV will oversee the development of the Transmission Scheme for the ‘Network Expansion Scheme’ specifically designed for power drawal at South Kalamb.

Purpose and Scope

The establishment of South Kalamb Power Transmission Limited aligns with the Ministry of Power’s (MoP) initiatives to improve transmission infrastructure. PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL) was appointed as the Bid Process Coordinator (BPC) on August 19, 2025, via Gazette Notification No. CG-DL-E-21082025-265554. The goal is to select a Transmission Service Provider (TSP) through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding.

Project Development

According to the guidelines, the BPC will manage the project profile and initiate land acquisition and forest clearance. South Kalamb Power Transmission Limited will handle preparatory activities, including surveys, report preparation, and land acquisition processes. The SPV will eventually be transferred to the successful bidder who will complete the project.
