Piramal Pharma Collaboration for Waste Anesthetic Gas Recycling

Piramal Pharma Limited, through its subsidiary Piramal Critical Care Inc. (PCCI), has partnered with Blue-Zone Technologies to capture and recycle waste anesthetic gases. The collaboration focuses on a full lifecycle approach using Blue-Zone’s technology. The agreement aims to minimize environmental impact and sustain the availability of essential anesthetic products. The initial focus will be on supplying PCC’s customers in Europe, starting in France and Germany.

Partnership for Environmental Sustainability

Piramal Pharma Limited’s subsidiary, Piramal Critical Care Inc. (PCCI), and Blue-Zone Technologies Ltd. have announced a collaboration to capture and recycle waste anesthetic gases. This partnership focuses on utilizing full lifecycle technology to address environmental concerns related to anesthetic use.

Focus on Waste Capture and Recycling

The collaboration will leverage Blue-Zone’s innovative waste anesthetic gas capture, collection, and processing technology, combined with Piramal’s manufacturing and marketing capabilities. The goal is to support customers in minimizing the environmental impact of volatile anesthetics. The initial efforts will focus on Europe, specifically France and Germany, where Blue-Zone will offer its Phoenix Deltasorb® waste anesthetic gas capture system to PCC’s customers, pending regulatory approval.

Sevoflurane USP Production

PCC will process captured waste anesthetic gas using Blue-Zone’s technology to produce Sevoflurane USP for human use in Canada. The parties anticipate expanding the scope of waste anesthetic gas capture, collection, recycling, and marketing of Sevoflurane USP to additional geographies.
