Petronet LNG Limited Receives Force Majeure Notice from QatarEnergy, Informs Off-takers

Petronet LNG (PLL) has confirmed receiving a Force Majeure notice from its key LNG supplier, QatarEnergy (QE), dated March 3rd, 2026. Consequently, PLL immediately issued corresponding Force Majeure notices to its major Indian off-takers: GAIL, IOCL, and BPCL on March 5th, 2026. Confirmation of Supplier Force Majeure

Petronet LNG Limited (PLL) has issued a formal intimation regarding developments concerning its supply chain. Following up on an earlier communication dated 3rd March 2026, PLL confirms that it has officially received a Notice of Force Majeure from its primary supplier, QatarEnergy (QE).

Action Taken with Off-takers

In response to the supplier action, PLL promptly executed necessary contractual measures. On the same day, 5th March 2026, the Company issued corresponding Force Majeure notices to all its major off-takers. These off-takers include GAIL (India) Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), adhering to the terms within their respective Gas Sale and Purchase Agreements.

Current Status and Monitoring

The management noted that because the Force Majeure event is currently ongoing, the full financial or operational impact on PLL cannot be estimated at this point in time. The Company has assured that it is diligently monitoring all related developments and committed to keeping the stock exchanges informed of any material updates regarding this situation.
