The partnership centers on local production of mobile phones, tablets, IoT devices, and advanced wearables in India. This collaboration is set to utilize OEL’s existing facility in Noida.

Under the terms of the agreement, Ai+ Smartphone and OEL are committing to invest around INR 125 crore in India-based manufacturing over a period of five years. This investment aligns directly with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ vision. The initiative is projected to generate approximately 1,200 direct and indirect jobs across manufacturing, operations, and support functions.
Production Volume and Timeline
OEL is slated to manufacture an initial volume of approximately 3 million Ai+ Smartphone mobile devices annually under this arrangement. The production scope also includes scaling up manufacturing for tablets and advanced wearables. Production ramp-up is targeted to commence in April 2026, establishing a scalable India-based production backbone for Ai+ Smartphone’s product portfolio.
Focus on Sovereignty and Quality
Ai+ Smartphone devices feature NxtQuantum OS, described as India’s sovereign mobile operating system, built on Android and designed for security and compliance with Indian data laws. Madhav Sheth, CEO of Ai+ Smartphone, emphasized that the deal moves beyond mere assembly, focusing on building value domestically by combining OEL’s proven EMS capability with Ai+ Smartphone’s India-authored software stack.
