Ola Electric New S1 X+ 5.2 kWh Scooter Launched with 4680 Bharat Cells

Ola Electric has launched the S1 X+ 5.2 kWh electric scooter, powered by its indigenously developed 4680 Bharat Cell. The new model delivers a 320 km IDC range and a top speed of 125 km/h. Aimed at the mass market, the scooter is available at an introductory price of ₹1,29,999 until April 15, 2026, marking a significant step in the company’s efforts to increase EV adoption across India.

Performance and Advanced Technology

The new S1 X+ 5.2 kWh scooter combines high-end performance with everyday practicality. It is equipped with an 11 kW mid-drive motor and an integrated Motor Control Unit (MCU). To ensure rider safety and precision, the vehicle features Brake-by-Wire technology and front disc brakes, offering enhanced control and superior braking performance.

Strategic Significance of 4680 Bharat Cells

This launch highlights Ola Electric’s commitment to vertical integration. By utilizing the 4680 Bharat Cell—a technology previously reserved for the company’s premium product lines—in a mass-market offering, Ola is accelerating the democratization of long-range electric mobility. This strategic shift allows the company to scale its proprietary technology more rapidly and efficiently.

Expanding the Product Portfolio

The addition of the S1 X+ 5.2 kWh bolsters an already expansive portfolio. Ola Electric’s current lineup includes the Gen 3 S1 series, which features the S1 Pro+ (5.2kWh and 4kWh) and S1 Pro (4kWh and 3kWh) models. The mass-market segment is further supported by the Gen 3 S1 X+ (4kWh) and the Gen 3 S1 X (2kWh, 3kWh, and 4kWh) variants. Additionally, the company is growing its footprint in the electric motorcycle market with the Roadster X+ and Roadster X series.
