Ola Electric has officially launched Ola Shakti and is now entering India’s 1 Lakh Cr Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) market, with expectations for it to exceed 3 Lakh Cr by 2030. The company anticipates its annual Gigafactory consumption for the BESS market to reach up to 5 GWh, exceeding its automotive consumption in the next few years. Ola Shakti is powered by Ola’s indigenous 4680 Bharat Cells and is India’s first residential BESS, fully designed, engineered, and manufactured domestically.

Launched on October 16, 2025, Ola Shakti is available in 1.5 kWh, 3 kWh, 5.2 kWh, and 9.1 kWh battery configurations at introductory prices of ₹29,999, ₹55,999, ₹1,19,999 and ₹1,59,999 respectively, for the first 10,000 units. Reservations begin today at ₹999, with deliveries scheduled to start by Makar Sankranti 2026.
Energy Storage Vision
The launch of Ola Shakti represents the first step in the company’s vision for the energy storage market in India, scaling from residential applications to grid-scale deployments and anchored by the 4680 Bharat Cell technology platform produced at the Ola Gigafactory.
