The Board of Directors of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has approved the re-employment of Shri Arun Kumar Singh as Chairman, effective December 7, 2025. He will serve on a contract basis for one year, or until a regular appointment is made, as per the Government of India’s directive. Shri Singh is also the Chairman of ONGC Videsh Limited and Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited.
Leadership Continuity at ONGC
Shri Arun Kumar Singh will continue to lead Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) as Chairman, with the Board officially approving his re-employment at a meeting held on December 5, 2025. The re-appointment is on a contract basis.
Terms of Re-employment
Shri Singh’s re-employment is effective from December 7, 2025, and will continue for a period of one year. This arrangement continues until a regular Chairman assumes the position, or until further government orders are issued, whichever occurs earliest. The decision aligns with the directives from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India.
Shri Arun Kumar Singh’s Profile
In addition to his role as Chairman of ONGC, Shri Arun Kumar Singh also chairs the boards of ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL) and Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL). He also holds chairmanships at ONGC Petro additions Limited (OPaL), ONGC Green Ltd. (OGL), Ayana Renewable Power Pvt. Ltd. (ARPPL) and ONGC Energy Centre Trust (OECT).
Shri Singh has nearly four decades of experience in the Oil & Gas industry and holds a Gold Medal in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Patna. Previously, he served as the Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL).
