NTPC’s subsidiary, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has announced the commencement of commercial operations for a 210 MW capacity block within its 1200 MW Khavda-II Solar PV Project, located in Gujarat. This milestone, effective February 1, 2026, increases NTPC group’s total installed capacity to 87,665 MW and commercial capacity to 86,585 MW.
Khavda-II Solar Project Commences Operations
NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC, has initiated commercial operations of the first part capacity of 210 MW of the 1200 MW Khavda-II Solar PV Project located in Gujarat, of NTPC Renewable Energy Limited. The project officially began operations on February 1, 2026.
Impact on NTPC Group Capacity
With this development, the total installed capacity of the NTPC group has risen to 87,665 MW, while the commercial capacity reaches 86,585 MW. This project is part of NTPC’s larger initiative to expand its renewable energy portfolio. The NTPC Green Energy Limited Group commercial capacity stands at 8478.25 MW. With the addition of this capacity, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group will increase to 8688.25 MW.
