NTPC Limited Subsidiary Declares Commercial Operation for 165 MW Solar Capacity in Gujarat

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary, has announced the declaration of Commercial Operation Date (COD) for a 165 MW portion of the Khavda-II Solar PV Project in Gujarat, effective February 20, 2026. This addition boosts the total installed capacity of the entire NTPC group to 87,974 MW and commercial capacity to 86,894 MW. For NGEL’s group alone, the total installed capacity increased to 8,992.68 MW.

Key Capacity Milestone Achieved

NTPC Limited has received a significant update from its subsidiary, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL). NGEL confirmed the declaration of Commercial Operation Date (COD) for the second part capacity of 165 MW from the 1200 MW Khavda-II Solar PV Project situated in Gujarat. This capacity became fully operational effective 00:00 hrs on February 20, 2026.

Impact on Group Capacity

This successful commissioning marks another step in NTPC’s renewable energy expansion goals. Following this addition, the total installed capacity across the entire NTPC group now stands at an impressive 87,974 MW. Concurrently, the total commercial capacity for the group has reached 86,894 MW.

NTPC Green Energy Limited Updates

The subsidiary handling the project, NGEL, also saw a substantial capacity increase. Prior to this commissioning, the commercial capacity of the NGEL Group stood at 8827.68 MW. With the latest 165 MW addition, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group has officially risen to 8992.68 MW.

The disclosure was formally made by the Company Secretary and Compliance Officer, Ritu Arora, for NTPC Limited, and Manish Kumar for NTPC Green Energy Limited.
