NTPC Limited Unit-1 of Patratu Super Thermal Power Project Commences Operation

Details of the Commissioned Unit

Unit-1, with a capacity of 800 MW, is part of the Patratu Super Thermal Power Project, Stage-1, which has a total capacity of 3×800 MW. This project is operated by Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited, a subsidiary of NTPC Limited. The effective date of inclusion in the installed capacity is October 16, 2025.

Impact on NTPC’s Installed Capacity

Following the commencement of Unit-1, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Group has increased to 84849 MW. This expansion reinforces NTPC’s position as a leading power generation company in India.
