NTPC Subsidiary NGEL Commissions First Part Capacity of Bhadla Solar Project

NTPC announced that its subsidiary, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has commissioned the first part capacity of 300MW out of the 500MW Bhadla Solar PV Project in Rajasthan, effective January 13, 2026. This achievement will contribute to NTPC group’s total installed and commercial capacity, which will rise to 87,287 MW and 86,207 MW, respectively.

Bhadla Solar PV Project Commissioning

NTPC’s subsidiary, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has successfully commissioned part of the 500MW Bhadla Solar PV Project located in Rajasthan. The announcement was made on January 15, 2026, officially marking the start of operations for a significant portion of the project.

Capacity and Impact

The initial commissioned capacity is 300MW. With this addition, the total installed capacity of the NTPC group will increase to 87,287 MW, while the total commercial capacity will reach 86,207 MW. The effective date of the commissioning is January 13, 2026.
